I used NATGEO (National Geographic HD Channel from Dish and Blu Ray DVD) to compare between this projector and an 50" Pioneer Elite TV. I "hated" non HD channels from Dish on this projector, but it looked nice on the TV, I believe its the size.
My theater room is completely dark and this projector illuminates the whole room. The speaker that comes with it is ok, just not very loud, which I don't use anyways, I use the surround sound system that I already had. I also bought the shutter glasses SainSonic Rainbow Series Black 144hz 3D for 20 bucks...on amazon. Movie Nite out doors is awesome with family and friends.
If your going to spend $900 on a HD projector for home theater the BenQ W1070 1080P 3D Home Theater Projector is the one.
